The workshop will focus on the new signatories’ pledge to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 40% before 2030 and to adopt an integrated approach to tackling mitigation and adaptation to climate change. "On-hold signatories" will have the opportunity to learn what actions they need to undertake in order to become active signatories again.

As an important part of the Sustainable Energy (and Climate) Action Plans, district heating will also be a topic of the workshop. Participants will be informed about the present and future of DH systems, policies and technologies at national level, as well as about barriers and drivers in several Romanian case studies.

The workshop is opened to local authorities, Covenant of Mayors signatories or stakeholders interested in joining the initiative, policy makers, energy agencies, grid operators and technology industry, professionals in infrastructure and energy planning.
